New Costly Standards for French MedTechs

In its Editorial of 10/11/2020, Le Figaro comes back on the regulatory “tsunami” imposed on the Medtech manufacturers. Several leaders of the DM sector were interviewed. For Peters Surgical, a French industrial mid-size Medtech founded in 1926, the new European regulation (MDR – Medical Device Regulation voted in May 2017) will result in the disappearance of 300 products from its catalog. It required the recruitment of 30 people in AR/QA/Quality/Validation & Clinical in the group. To cope with it, “We have chosen to focus on the most innovative products” said Thierry Herbreteau, CEO of the group.
